💳Analytics: Crypto cards Crypto cards have shown rapid growth in volume in recent months, reaching a volume of $200 million. I analyzed 10 crypto cards and got the following results: The total monthly volume exceeded $200 million, with @RedotPay, @raincards, and @Cypher_HQ_ leading the way. They are followed by @ether_fi Cash card, @gnosispay, and @holyheld. Why RedotPay, Rain Card, and Cypher? These three projects are so-called card issuers, providing services not only to their customers but also to other projects that want to launch their own crypto card. For example: Rain Card is the card issuer for @KoloHub card, RedotPay is the card issuer for @SonicLabs card, and Cypher is the card issuer for @MoonwellDeFi card. As for the most popular payment chains, there are three: @0xPolygon, @base, and @ethereum. Track volumes here: ⚠️ *I would like to make a small clarification. I did not include Revolut Card due to a problem with identifying payments on all chains. Also, KAST card is partially tracked by EVM.

When you think of Sonic, the most well-known aspect is probably "speed." I'm tagging the two people I refer to the most while yapping, @r2Jamong and @heysoahri (I’m definitely not tagging them to increase interaction points). This post is a brilliant piece that makes you go "Aha!" if you’re wondering why speed is important in blockchain. To summarize: 1. The biggest factor affecting blockchain speed is block time. 2. The amount that can be processed in one block + the processing speed is important. That's what they say. I’ve only heard about TPS TPS all the time, but I didn’t know the exact meaning until now. With current node experts Rujamong and Ari, I’m not afraid of yapping anymore. To add a bit of old-school wisdom, back in my day,,, when I knew nothing about blockchain, it was tough to find ways to study, and I was just wandering around conferences... I used to try to impress Ari by picking up bits and pieces, but it seems like a good world has come with the advent of yapping. (@SonicLabs I also referenced @internpark's post while yapping.)

Let's properly understand TPS. In fact, TPS is not a term related to speed. TPS stands for Transactions Per Second. It refers to how many transactions can be processed on average per second. When @SonicLabs says it has a maximum of 400K TPS, it means it can process an average of 400,000 transactions per second. In reality, the biggest factor affecting speed in blockchain is the "block time." Since transactions in blockchain are executed in blocks, the frequency at which blocks are created is the most important factor. Bitcoin has a block time of 10 minutes, Ethereum has 12 seconds, and Solana has 0.3 to 0.4 seconds. Even if there is a chain with an extreme TPS of 100 million, if the block time is 1 hour, the transaction I sent from my wallet could take up to an hour to execute in the worst case. The point at which TPS affects speed is when there is high usage and transactions are congested. No matter how fast the block time is, if the amount that can be processed in one block is small, then when usage increases, you will have to wait. So, in fact, on a quiet chain where only 1 to 2 transactions occur per second, whether the TPS is 10, 400K, or 10 billion, it does not affect speed at all. It will just be processed according to the speed of the block time as requests come in. Therefore, expressions like "with TPS speed" that are often seen recently are somewhat strange, like saying "with a weight of 100km." So if someone yells "with Sonic's 400K TPS speed," you can just comment back, "Ah, lol, that's not speed, lol."
