As new validator Exo got to experience voting first hand. It’s a mess. Validator’s claim tokens and send them to token addresses as a signaling vote. For a chain that prides itself on tech it was shockingly antiquated

TipRouter is a node consensus network (NCN) that has different operators coming to consensus on the MEV distributions to validators and their stakers every epoch.
[Simplified] It works by
1. taking a agave compatible full snapshot
2. loading the state at that snapshot slot
3. generating a 2-tiered merkle tree (validator data => staker data)
4. Voting on the merkle root
It’s a decentralized way to come to consensus on the active stake across the entire network
